What’s the difference, anyway?
There are as many types of coaches and therapists are there are shells on a beach, so I can’t really give you a definitive answer.
But a good rule of thumb is as follows:
A therapist helps you function again when you can’t face daily life anymore. When you can’t get out of bed. When living feels like a chore. When several others have pointed out your irrational, worrying behavior.
A coach works with you when you’re functional but meh*. We get you to the next level. Make your potential come to life. Show you how to release the brakes. Get you in flow.
Coach and therapist can work together. Like the staff around a sports team: a physiotherapist keeping bodies in top physical condition; and a coach setting game strategies, deciding training routines, pepping up the players to perform at their best.
If you’re unsure, contact one of us. A good coach, a good therapist will refer you to the relevant professional when they are not the right one to help.
