I work with many entrepreneurs who are developing their services.

They all feel like frauds for not being the successful product of their product:

a marketing expert who can’t turn clients down yet;

a project manager overwhelmed by all there is to do;

an artist lacking problem-solving creativity.

“If my clients see I’m just the same as them, I’m not bringing any value.”

I’d like to offer a different perspective. To bring value to your clients, you don’t need to be THE topic expert. You need to be an expert seeker.

If you try to be a topic expert you’re going to tell your client stuff they’ve already heard in all the podcasts and webinars they no doubt consume.

You’ll come with a ready-made solution: “Here are the 7 steps you need to implement and you’ll be right.” You’ll be closed-minded because you’ll think you’ve already figured out the solution to the problem you have in common with your client.

Truth is, you can’t possibly know their exact situation. If you can, their problem is not complex enough that you can build a business on!

You WANT TO need to use your unique way of thinking to help them figure out the best way forward.

You having this problem yourself just means you’re constantly sharpening your mind around this issue.
