That when I find it, the clouds will part. A golden ray of light will touch my forehead, and I’LL KNOW. As if this one missing piece of the puzzle would reveal the complete picture.
HA!
We sometimes have a clear instinct of what we should be doing; that’s because we’re in a good emotion that makes choosing easy. It’s certainly not because there is ONE way we should act and we “recognize” it.
There is no right decision. There’s only the decision that you decide is right.
The real reason you’re not able to decide is because of what you’re telling yourself about the potential negative consequences of your choice: “I’ll be a failure! An idiot! Incompetent! I think I’m better than I really am. I don’t have what it takes! Let the big kids play and just go home!”
When you make a choice, you actually need to make two: take the decision about the thing itself. Then decide how you will treat yourself if the result is not what you’d hoped.
When you believe “I’m a badass just for trying” or “every no takes me closer to that yes I want”, deciding will just be easy again.
